Comtesse de FriseThe Comtesse de Frise of New York and Palm Beach is an attractive and gifted member of a group whose interests are wide and discriminating. She has a recognized flair for decoration, is artistic to her finger tips, and is a clever and charming hostess.

The Comtesse de Frise gives her favorite recipe for Waffles.

Bisquick Waffles

These are marvelously delicate and crisp when made this way with Bisquick.

  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs

Beat eggs well with a rotary beater. Add milk and Bisquick. Beat with the egg beater to mix batter very thoroughly. Mix in butter if a richer waffle is desired. Pour into hot waffle iron (3 tablespoons of batter makes 1 waffle). Bake until golden brown. To get a crisp waffle, the waffle iron must be very hot. Amount: 6 to 8 light, tender waffles.

Nut Waffles

Follow directions for waffles and add 1/2 cup cut up nuts.

Mrs. Julian Street Jr.Mrs. Julian Street, Jr. of Sutton Place, New York, is one of the most popular and lovely members of New York's younger set. Because of her great chic she is much in demand as a mannikin for charity fashion shows. She entertains a great deal--the informal "buffet" supper is one of her favorite ways.

Mrs. Julian Street, Jr. suggests, for informal luncheons and buffet suppers, this recipe for Pigs in a Blanket.

Pigs in Blankets

Follow recipe for Bisquicks. Instead of cutting dough with round biscuit cutter, cut into little oblong pieces, and place a wiener or frankfurter in the center of each piece. Roll the dough around it and press the edges together to seal it. The wieners should show at both ends. Bake on baking sheet 15 minutes in hot oven, 450 F. The wieners will taste better if they are first cooked in bacon fat.

Bisquick Parkerhouse Rolls
