Blender Drinks and Smoothie Recipes
Our family decided we wanted to eat healthier, so we went out and got a blender. The first one I bought was broke in 3 days, and it was a name brand. What happened was, I was blending some veggies, and that plastic cap slipped down through the square rubber lid, and caught in the blades and snapped the base.
I took it back to the store and picked out a Hamilton Beach blender, and I like it so very much more, and it runs quieter than the first blender. I don't want to say the name of the first blender, but I am going to recommend you getting a Hamilton Beach blender. But since you are already here, you must already have a blender, so here's some recipes that came with the Hamilton Beach blender we bought.
My Favorite Smoothie
- 4 or 5 strawberries
- 4 or 5 grapes
- 1 banana, broke in 4 pieces
- orange juice
Place all fruit in a blender (or use your Immersion Blender.) Blend on high until smooth. Then add some orange juice to the consistancy you like. Enjoy.
My Note: A great, easy fruit drink to make. This summer I have froze some bananas, strawberries, grapes, and orange juice. So, whenever I would like a smoothie this winter, I already have the ingredients.
Smoothies
- 8 oz yogurt (any flavor)
- 1 cup juice (any flavor)
- 2 cups fruit (may use 2-3 types)
- 12 ice cubes
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar (optional)
Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until smooth. Serve immediately.
My Note: When I make fruit smoothies, the fruit is already cold from being in the fridge. So, I don't add ice. Another thing is, we bought a "hand-held" blender that came with it's own mixing glass. So, I put in strawberries, grapes, and a banana, blend it, and then add some orange juice, and re-blend. It's a great, easy fruit drink to make.
